  1. It may or may not help to know that some of Chad’s students approach him with a fairly casual attitude.

    As in, some of them call him “Chad” (with permission).

  2. The biggest show of guts and sense of humour was when I was delivering a lecture in absence of my PhD advisor. I was happily calculating the Green’s function of the wave equation in 2D and I said “we introduce an Ansatz”. Then I explained what an Ansatz is and gave an example “I’m an Ansatz for Prof. X today”. Then I hear with my eyes on the blackboard, as one student says “Ersatz, rather”. I wasn’t even offended…
