Help Kids, Win Prizes

As you have no doubt noticed, the annual DonorsChoose fundraiser is under way, raising money to help school teachers and children. You can < ahref="http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/viewChallenge.html?id=19006">donate directly through my challenge, but you can also help them out by voting for them in the AMEX Members Project. Voting runs through midnight Monday, and is free, though you need to have an American Express card to vote. If they win the vote, they get $1.5 million, which is a bit more than ScienceBlogs is going to swing.

If you opt for donating through my challenge, you may be eligible for some prizes:

  • Every $5 donated gets you one entry in a raffle to win a cross-stitch project Kate did.
  • A $50 donation gets you a blog post answering any question you like, within 24 hours.
  • A $150 donation gets you a talking-to-my-dog post about a topic of your choosing.
  • A $300 donation gets you a copy of the latest complete draft of the book in progress, which is a pop-science book explaining quantum mechanics through conversations with my dog.

These may be combined– that is, $300 gets you the book, two dog posts, and six non-dog blog posts.

To claim any of these, forward the donation confirmation email to me at orzelc at steelypips dot org.
