Bonus Toddler Blogging: Balloon Basketball

SteelyKid has clearly inherited her father’s fondness for basketball. Unfortunately, she doesn’t quite understand how to play, yet. She does know that involves throwing a ball up in the air and jumping, though:

She’ll get the rest of it eventually.

  1. One of my daycare toddlers started off that way. This year, she will be in her second year of a basketball scholarship at my uni.

I say that mostly as warning–I’d swear she was 3 years old maybe 5 years ago. Time goes by quickly, but kid time burns by like nothing else.

I’d tell you to savor every moment, but it would appear you already do. Well done.

  2. I’m of the opinion that Steelykid has captured the essence of the game. All that stuff about lines, points, and rules just gets in the way of the sheer joy of throwing and otherwise messing about with a ball.

  3. So cute when she keeps saying “Basket Ball!”.

By the way, she seems to have learned to catch. She is being pretty good at catching that balloon.

  4. So, what’s inside that kong that Queen Emmy’s so diligently working on? Peanut butter?
