It’s Organic Pixie Dust, from Fair-Trade Pixies

SteelyKid: Daddy, would you like to go to visit Jake and the Never Land Pirates?

Me:: In principle, sure. But it’s a cartoon. We can’t go there, it’s not a real place.

SteelyKid: Yes it is. Never Land is real, we can go there.

Me: Well, look, if you find some pixies dust that we can use to make us fly, we can try to fly to Never Land. Let me know if you find any.

SteelyKid: No, Daddy, we don’t need to find pixie dust. We just need to go to the store and buy some pixie dust.

Me: I’m pretty sure they don’t have pixie dust at the stores around here. Though, there are persistent rumors that they’re opening a Trader Joe’s in Colonie

  1. You can probably find pixie dust for sale in Diagon Alley in London. I don’t think it’s sold anywhere else, though.

(Not that I am familiar with Trader Joe’s product lines; there isn’t a Trader Joe’s around here.)

  2. From the newspaper:
“Some wonder if the site close to Colonie Center has enough parking to support what’s expected to be a major regional draw.”

It is typical of Trader Joe to have difficult parking. There is a local TJ which has an extensive parking lot so to further their practice, the entry/exit is very constrained. Is this to promote group cuddling?

  3. What’s wrong with believing in pixie dust and Never Neverland. It’s nowhere near as pernicious as believing in the confidence fairy or invisible bond vigilantes. Your child is showing good sense.
